Job’s Daughters
Job’s Daughters is a Masonic Youth Organization for young ladies ages 10-20 that teaches leadership skills. The daughters may be related to or sponsored by a Master Mason. The organization was established by a woman named Ethel T. Wead Mick in 1920 in Nebraska and Michigan was the 2nd state to charter a Bethel. Although Job’s Daughters started in Michigan in 1920, the first Bethel was officially chartered on July 11, 1922, and celebrated our 100th Anniversary of Job’s Daughters in Michigan in 2022.
The daughters traditionally meet in a Masonic Lodge, and they call their chapter a “Bethel” which means Holly Place, where the daughter lead meeting is formal and follows Roberts Rules for governance. In Michigan there are 16 active Bethels throughout both Upper and Lower Peninsular. There is also a State/Grand level where daughters that excel locally may be selected to serve. Our annual conference is held in July and traditionally draws 350-400 people. Please watch our state website for future events, we would love to meet you and tell you more about our Order. https://www.mijdi.com/
